Gateway Eco District Marketing Update

We have been working really hard to come up with a logo for the Eco District. The project group has worked really well with each other and we have some final designs.

The three high school students are now preparing to do a presentation to the Gateway Eco District Steering Committee.

I just finished an informal poll of the Gateway Businesses and residents of five choices for the font and tagline and the results are very interesting…..stay tuned

Gateway Marketing Project

The Gateway marketing project met last Wednesday evening at IRCO.
We had a great meeting with only three of us attending. We worked on ideas for a Gateway Eco District logo and came up with some great ideas.
I also met with a wonderful marketing firm Inkspot Graphics and received some great advice on the creation of a logo and marketing tools to enhance the growth of the Gateway Eco District.
The next meeting is June 15th and ABC Sustainable Solutions will contact everyone with the details of time and place on Monday.

Last weekend GABA had their Fun-O-Rama. There was a great turn out and everyone had a good time. There were several performers that came and sang beautifully.

Lot’s of great raffle prizes were given and good food as well.

Thursday we had our first meeting with the Marketing project group.
We had two students from Parkrose and one student from David Douglas that were able to make this first meeting. They met the Gateway Steering Committee members that were able to meet and it was a good meeting.
We talked about creating a logo to represent the Eco District and what we were looking for in a marketing campaign. We have setup our next meeting for June 8th and IRCO has offered their conference room for us to use.

The Gateway Steering Committee is now working with Parkrose, David Douglas, Portland Adventist Academy and Portland Christian high schools and three colleges MHCC, Portland State University and Warner Pacific to bring a team collaboration of efforts to create a website and logo for The Gateway Eco District.

We hope to have the Gateway businesses donate funds that will go towards college tuition for the winning members of the project.

The project is still getting started. Some of our ideas for winning projects are best website content, best video, best logo etc.

Gateway Eco-District Update

The Steering Committee met last night and discussed the different project ideas that came out of the key stakeholders meeting.
We wanted to prioritize the projects. We decided that we would like to have a community event such as a bike ride or even a walk and we will continue to work on this until we meet again on March 30th. Colleen is working on gathering information for a District Waste solution and Carter will be working on gathering information for home weatherization and the Clean Energy Works. It was a productive and exciting session. I cannot wait to see what everyone comes back with on March 30th.

Gateway Eco-District Meeting Results

The meeting of key stake holders for the Gateway Eco District went very well. Although we would have liked to have more representation those that did come brought fantastic ideas! The presentations were good and informative. We would like to give a big thanks to McTavish Shortbread who supplied the cookies for the evening.
And now the work begins!

The Gateway Eco District key stakeholders meeting is coming up next week. The Gateway Eco District is about Community involvement for sustainable practices and growth.

Come to the meeting on February 10th at the East Portland Community Center 6:30pm until 8:00 pm residents, businesses and anyone interested in making our community a thriving area bringing jobs and new life to the area are welcome.
